Rhode Island Newborn Photographer | What to bring to a newborn session

Help!

Many parents ask what they need to bring to their newborn session with Aimee Elizabeth Photography. The short answer- not a whole lot! I provide the best quality props, handmade outfits, luxurious wraps, and one-of-a-kind headbands. I pride myself on my collection of props and my clients love them too!

I do provide all my clients with a newborn prep guide so they know what to do to prepare and what to expect during their session. Here are some highlights!

  • Be sure baby is fully fed prior to arrival (but bring bottles or be prepared to nurse if baby needs it)

  • Try to avoid having diaper ointment visible on baby's skin. If you do use it regularly, be sure to clean any off prior to your session.

  • Please remove any bandaids (and sticky residue) from baby prior to the session. Baby oil works great for bandaid removal!

  • Dress baby in loose fitting clothing and a loosely fastened diaper prior to their session. No tight socks!

  • Even if your baby doesn’t typically use a pacifier, I ask that you bring one as they serve as a wonderful distraction for the baby during the session. They are incredibly helpful in keeping your little one happy when moving from pose to pose. Please bring a soft pacifier, such as the "Soothie" brand (without the stuffed animal attached). Pacifiers with a hard outer shell leave marks on the baby’s face.

This is just a snippet of whats included in my prep guide! Have more questions? Never hesitate to ask! I'd much rather you arrive confident and feeling prepared versus unsure and nervous!
