Pre-Shoot Concept
Prepping for a studio maternity photoshoot is surprisingly similar to prepping for a professional fashion shoot. You want your clothes to compliment your shape, as well as complement your baby bump. If you are in a cold climate, it’s important to layer up or dress in multiple clothing items that will keep you warm and allow flexibility during an active photo shoot.
The Perks of In Studio
Taking maternity photos on location is a lot of fun, but doing them in studio has a lot of perks too. For one, it’s a great way to make sure you get exactly what you want—after all, it’s impossible to change location mid-shoot! You also have more control over styling and staging with an indoor shoot, which means fewer headaches for you when it comes time to pick photos for your birth announcement.
Post Production
I try to produce quality images as I shoot, but no matter what the conditions, extensive editing is done to maternity photos to give a professional polished look. The color correction and softening effects that many expect are added in post-production. You can rest assured the final product will be everything you could've hoped for (and more!)
Final Result
When you’re not so pregnant, it’s easy to forget just how much you’ve changed. Maternity photos can serve as incredible reminders of these transformations and of your own journey through pregnancy.
